Each year in King County, hundreds of cats become lost and mos pets and owners never reunite.
Regional Animal Services of King County is joining Missing Pet Partnership pet detective Kat Albrecht to offer a lost cat behavior seminar.
?By understanding the behaviors of lost cats, we can increase the likelihood that a lost cat will be recovered and reunited with its owner,? Albrecht said in a statement.
The event examines the science of finding lost cats by studying where they tend to go, how they behave when lost and how they can be found. The seminar includes case studies of cats recovered, some under remarkable circumstances.
?It?s upsetting when a beloved pet goes missing,? Regional Animal Services Manager Gene Mueller said in a statement. ?Regional Animal Services is happy to join with Missing Pet Partnership for this training, and to help families searching for lost cats.?
The lost cat behavior seminar is 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the King County Pet Adoption Center, 21615 64th Ave. S. in Kent. The seminar is free, but pre-registration is required. Call 206-296-3946 or email volunteer manager Sarah Luthens at sarah.luthens@kingcounty.gov to register.
